Genetically Wrong

Genetically Wrong

Walking time bomb you would think

Genetically wrong

Some say I should be long gone

Or laying on hospital bed

Tubes from toe to head

Chorus of beeping machine with flashing lights

Drugs to help fight the good fight of all fights

Putting on my running shoes

Would you like to place a bet?

Strapping up my calve protectors

Because you see I am not dead yet

Run ten miles through sweat, tears and a rye smiles

As I sprint one hundred yards

Giving up was never on the cards

Pulling my Queen Park Rangers top over my head

Genetically wrong

They said I should be long gone

Don’t know the meaning of dead

Feeling more alive

Feeling more comfortable than sitting in a chair

Feeling more alive

Pounding the pavement in the chill of a winters air

Running up a hill or two

Some won’t

Some can’t

I do what I must do

Confusing the medical profession

Can be a living life long lesson

Don’t fit the statistics

Genealogical miss fit

About darkersideoflight

Hi welcome to my world, I just noticed i have been writing here since 2011. You probably stumbled across me one way or another. I have been writing since the age of sixteen and soon I will be 49. I call my words poetry but i see the words as potential lyric to a song and one day when I have the time and money this is a road i will follow but till then I will be here. Please feel free to contact me if you are a musician or a band looking for a song writer and you feel you could work with me thank you and have good time where ever you may be.
